  • 🏈 (NFL) Jaguars DE Travon Walker. One of the silver linings of Jacksonville’s Week 1 loss in Miami was Walker’s individual performance. He recorded the second multi-sack game of his career with some fantastic plays against the run as well. According to ESPN, Walker ranked first among all EDGE players in run stop win rate last week despite being double-teamed on 46% of snaps. -Gus Logue

  • 🏈 (CFB) Gators QB DJ Lagway. It may not have come against the toughest competition on Saturday, but Lagway looked like a star. The freshman phenom shattered Gator legend Chris Leak’s school record for passing yards by a freshman in a single game with 456. One of Lagway’s three touchdowns on the night came on a 41-yard bomb to Aidan Mizell that set social media ablaze. Coach Billy Napier still plans to start senior Graham Mertz in this weekend’s SEC opener against Texas A&M, but the no. 1 ranked QB in the class of 2024 may be too good to keep off the field. -Trent Osborne

  • 🏀 Boston Celtics. Last year’s champions will look to repeat this coming year. Though it won’t be an easy road, this squad has all the tools necessary to recapture the Larry O’Brien Trophy. It feels as if this team is going to come out of the gate angry. Jaylen Brown feels he was snubbed from Team USA, Jayson Tatum faced unfair criticism for his olympic performance and Head Coach Joe Mazzulla states the team will look to attack their quest to remain on top instead of looking at this year as “defending” the crown. -RJ Saunders

  • ⚾️ Braves OF Michael Harris II. Harris is back healthy again after missing a month with a Grade 2 hamstring strain. His bat at the lead-off spot was sorely missed in a lineup lacking for production. Harris is beginning to heat up now, too. He hit a pair of home runs on Tuesday night against the Nationals. -Andrew Gibson

  • 🏈 (NFL) Jaguars RB Travis Etienne. Jacksonville’s fourth-year back had perhaps the worst game of his pro career in Week 1. In addition to coughing up a fumble in the red zone, Etienne played a bit too frenetically and left some yards on the field. He finished with 12 carries for 44 yards and a touchdown compared to 12 carries for 73 yards from Tank Bigsby. -Gus Logue

  • 🏈 (CFB) Notre Dame Fighting Irish. What a disaster for the Fighting Irish. One week after a hard fought road win against then-ranked Texas A&M, Notre Dame lost at home in shocking fashion to 28-point underdog Northern Illinois. Following the loss, the Irish plummeted in the AP Top 25 from #5 to #18. After Week 1 it appeared that Notre Dame was as serious a national championship contender as they had been in over a decade; 7 days later, their college football playoff hopes are in serious question. -Trent Osborne

  • 🏀 Los Angeles Lakers. In a Western Conference that’s getting more competitive, the Lakers will be in a fight all season just to make the playoffs. This will be a team trying to answer questions all year long. From roster moves, to how many games LeBron James and Anthony Davis play this season, even how long will it take new head coach JJ Redick to get his footing with this team. -RJ Saunders

  • ⚾️ Marlins trajectory. The Marlins have big one of baseball’s biggest disappointments in 2024. Miami won 84 games last year and made the playoffs. Many thought they had turned a corner. They have acquired some exciting young talent, but unfortunately, they are closing in on a 100 loss season. -Andrew Gibson
