  • 🏈 Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence. He became one of the richest athletes in America after signing a five-year, $275 million contract extension with the Jaguars last week. "I am beyond grateful to be able to continue my career in Jacksonville," Lawrence said in a statement. "My family and I love this city - it has become home to us and this solidifies that even more. We can't thank Mr. Khan, and everyone involved for their belief in me. I know that the best is yet to come and this is only the beginning. The drive to bring a championship to Duval is bigger than ever. Let's get it done." With the additions of Mitch Morse, Gabe Davis and Brian Thomas Jr. to the offense, Lawrence is in the best surrounding environment of his career going into his third season with Doug Pederson. -Gus Logue

  • 🏀 Magic F Paolo Banchero. He’s just the second member of the Magic to ever win Rookie of the Year and then be named an All-Star by his second season (Shaq being the other). Banchero led a young Orlando squad that no one even glimpsed at once to the doorstep of a second round playoff series. He can score akin to a young Carmelo Anthony, and his passing ability is up there with some of the better ‘point forwards’ in the NBA right now. Buy stock now because Year 3 is going to be special for the former Duke Blue Devil. -RJ Saunders

  • ⚾️ Gators 1B/LHP Jac Caglianone. The two-way star has followed up an insane 2023 season — .324 AVG, 33 HR — with even better numbers in 2024. Cags, as he's affectionately known, leads the Gators with an absurd .413 batting average and a Florida single-season record 34 home runs. In Monday's 5-4 victory vs. NC State in the College World Series, he tied Matt LaPorta for the school record with 74 career home runs. Roundly considered a Top 5 overall MLB Draft pick this summer, Caglianone is positioning himself as perhaps the best baseball player to ever wear the Orange and Blue. -Andrew Gibson

  • 🏈 Jaguars WR Elijah Cooks. The Jaguars have quietly been tinkering with its wide receiver depth. They signed Austin Trammell and Kyric McGowan in the past week to round out the position group, which could be a sign that players like Elijah Cooks and Tim Jones may be fighting for a roster spot after making the 53 last year. Cooks in particular faces an uphill battle, as Jones brings more special teams value, and the team added size (Cooks' best trait) this offseason in Brian Thomas Jr. and Gabe Davis. -Gus Logue

  • 🏀 Trae Young to Orlando. Many believe the Atlanta Hawks point guard could be on the move, and many Magic fans would love for the organization to acquire him. However, if I were Orlando, I would look elsewhere. With the tandem of Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, a player who has that high of a usage rate may not be needed. The Magic should target a guard with size, who won’t make many mistakes, can play off of Banchero and Wagner, and slide Jalen Suggs over to his natural position at shooting guard. Orlando has stars - what they need now is just spacing around them. -RJ Saunders

  • ⚾️ Rays OF Randy Arozarena. Arozarena made the All-Star team for the first time last year. He hit a career-high 23 home runs leading the Rays to a 99-win season and a 2nd place finish in the AL East. But making the All-Star team raises expectations, and thus far in 2024, Arozarena has failed to meet them. He’s batting a career-low .178 through 70 games. While his numbers in June are improving, they are a far cry from what Rays fans have come to expect from the 2021 Rookie of the Year. Amid his struggles, Tampa Bay sits in last place as we approach the halfway point of the MLB season. Watch for Arozarena’s name as a possible buy-low candidate for a contender at the trade deadline in July. -Andrew Gibson
