🏈 (NFL) Jaguars DC Ryan Nielsen. The Jaguars were arguably the worst pass defense in the NFL just a few weeks ago, but Nielsen’s unit has turned it around. The secondary especially has communicated better and looked far more in-place. Tyson Campbell, Montaric Brown and Darnell Savage all hauled in an interception against Sam Darnold on Sunday. -Gus Logue
🏈 (CFB) Ole Miss Runnin’ Rebels. It looks like Lane Kiffin’s squad has has finally clicked. Many people (myself included) wrote the Rebels off after their two losses to Kentucky and LSU earlier this season, knowing that their fate would come down to November 9th when Georgia came into town. Ole Miss didn’t just win the game, they handed the Dawgs their worst loss since the 2019 SEC Championship. The Rebels not only look look like a contender in the conference, but a contender for the National Championship. -Trent Osborne
🏀 Cleveland Cavaliers. For a team that made no major offseason moves going into this year, who would’ve thought this would be the best team in the league in terms of record. Donovan Mitchell as well as Evan Mobley are having All-Star caliber seasons, and Kenny Atkinson seems to have unlocked something that J.B. Bickerstaff for whatever reason couldn’t. It was thought that teams such as the 76ers, Knicks or Bucks would be the squads to challenge the Celtics in terms of repeating as NBA champs. You may now need to add the Cavaliers to that short list should they keep up this level of play. -RJ Saunders
⚾️ New era of Marlins baseball. The Marlins hired Los Angeles Dodgers first base coach Clayton McCullough as the 19th manager in team history on Sunday. McCullough has been Dave Roberts’ first base coach with the Dodgers for the past four seasons. Will he be the one to turn it around in Miami? The last Marlins manager with a winning record was Jack McKeon, who last managed the team in 2011. -Andrew Gibson

🏈 (NFL) Trevor Lawrence’s availability. The face of the franchise missed Sunday’s game due to soreness in his left shoulder. It’s been rumored that Lawrence could seek surgery to repair an AC joint sprain. Maybe he returns after Jacksonville’s Week 12 bye, but for however long no. 16 is out, the Jaguars’ loss to the Vikings showed that they can only go as far as he takes them. -Gus Logue
🏈 (CFB) Miami Hurricanes. You can only play with fire so many times before you inevitably get burned. After weeks and weeks of halftime deficits and three-touchdown comebacks, Miami finally took a loss for the first time this season. Canes QB Cam Ward is incredible but he can only do so much when the defense has given up 30+ in four of their past six games. After 10 weeks of an ACC Championship game berth seeming like a foregone conclusion, Miami will have to win out if they want to play for their first ACC title in school history. -Trent Osborne
🏀 New Orleans Pelicans. Injuries to star players across the league have been a problem to start the year. Following the news of defensive dynamo Jose Alvarado being sidelined with a hamstring injury, New Orleans has been hit by the injury bug the worst. The Pelicans are now without Alvarado, Zion Williamson, Herb Jones, Dejounte Murray, CJ McCollum and Jordan Hawkins. This was a team that was seen as a disruptor when it came to possible playoff surprises this season. However, it’s their season that’s been the most disrupted. And it’s only November. -RJ Saunders
⚾️ Rays stadium plans for 2025. The Tampa Bay Times reported Tuesday that Tropicana Field can be repaired for an estimated $55 million in time for the 2026 season. That leaves the Rays without a home stadium for the upcoming 2025 season. The Trop sustained significant damage from Hurricane Milton in October. The big question is whether the city will want to spend that much money on repairs, given plans for a new stadium to open in 2028. The Rays will most likely play at the Phillies or Yankees Spring Training park in 2025. -Andrew Gibson
