  • 🏈 Pro Football in Duval. The Jacksonville City Council voted Tuesday to approve the Jaguars’ $1.4 billion ‘Stadium of the Future’ deal proposal. Assuming the NFL also OKs it in October, the organization will begin construction on significant stadium renovations in 2025, with the grand opening set for 2028. This development is expected to change downtown for the better and keep the Jaguars in town for another 30 years. Team owner Shad Khan said in a statement, “Never doubt Jacksonville!” -Gus Logue

  • 🏀 NBA Parity. There are too many teams with too much talent in both the Eastern and Western Conference. A different NBA champion has been crowned in each of the last six years, which may mean dynasties are no more. The Boston Celtics by all means should be the favorites to hoist the Larry O’Brien trophy for a second straight year, but don’t be surprised if we see a new titleholder next June. -RJ Saunders

  • ⚾️ Rangers OF Wyatt Langford. After a slow start to his big league career, Langford is showing signs of a breakout. Since returning from a three-week stint on the injured list, the former Gators star has collected 20 RBI over his last 24 games. -Andrew Gibson

  • 🏒 Hockey in the South. The Florida Panthers are Stanley Cup champions! Fort Lauderdale’s NHL franchise brought home its first-ever title in its 30th season of existence — against a Canadian squad, no less. The Panthers built a 3-0 lead in the Finals, allowed the Edmonton Oilers to force Game 7, then won it all on their home ice to make hockey history. -Gus Logue

  • 🏈 Jaguars LT Cam Robinson. He and fellow blindside protector Walker Little are each entering the final year of their contracts. Robinson figures keep the starting job at left tackle, considering he has 84 career starts to Little’s 17, but there could still be a positional battle in training camp. Robinson missed most of Jacksonville’s voluntary practices this summer and ESPN recently revealed that “he sits dead last among tackles in run block win rate over the past two seasons.” It wouldn’t shock me if the Jaguars gave Little a real shot at starting over Robinson in 2024. -Gus Logue

  • 🏀 Trade Rumors of Hawks PG Dejounte Murray to L.A.

According to reports, the Los Angeles Lakers could be circling back to Atlanta to see if they can acquire Hawks guard Dejounte Murray, possibly for tonight’s 17th overall pick. LeBron James and Anthony Davis would love for the their organization to go “all in” and find a third star. However, if Murray is the player they want, Atlanta may be asking L.A. to include Austin Reaves in those trade scenarios - something the Lakers aren’t willing to do. The next 36 hours are going to be interesting. -RJ Saunders

  • ⚾️ Braves SS Orlando Arcia. Arcia is in the midst of a 1-for-19 stretch. He is batting just .152 over the last month. The Braves shortstop started for the National League in the All-Star game last year but has become a liability at the plate in 2024. -Andrew Gibson
