🏈 Jaguars EVP Tony Boselli. There is no one more synonymous with the Jacksonville Jaguars’ brand than Tony Boselli. He was the franchise’s first draft pick, first person inducted into the ring of honor, and first player inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Boselli stuck around the community in his post-playing days — he was part of the team’s broadcast crew and a frequent guest on 1010XL’s The Drill — but now he has an official role with the organization once again. As Executive VP of Football Operations, Boselli will be part of a ‘football leadership unit’ with head coach Liam Coen and the yet-to-be-named general manager. “Today, Shad Khan made my dream come true,” Boselli said. “I’m ready to get to work.” -Gus Logue
🏀 Los Angeles Lakers. It’s been said that the Lakers don’t rebuild but rather reload. Well, not only have they reloaded, but they’ve shaken the basketball world with the acquisition of global superstar Luka Dončić. What was even more shocking was the asking price. Though it’s tough to lose a rare talent and defensive wizard in Anthony Davis, Los Angeles now has a player who is a top-three player in the entire world, and only one less first-round pick in its draft chest. Dončić can be built around for the next decade. Even if L.A. isn’t looking to contend this year, the post-LeBron era of Lakers basketball is in good hands. -RJ Saunders
⚾️ Braves P Grant Holmes. The Braves may have found another gem at starting pitcher with Holmes. He’s not a name that you immediately think of, but he will have the opportunity to lock down a spot in the rotation this spring. The former first-round pick of the Dodgers piled up 70 strikeouts in just seven starts in 2024. -Andrew Gibson

🏈 Todd Hafley’s coaching tree. Jaguars head coach Liam Coen has hired Anthony Campanile as his defensive coordinator and Anthony Perkins as his secondary coach; both Anthonys worked under Todd Hafley in Green Bay during the 2024-25 NFL season. The common theme in Jacksonville’s coaching staff so far is energetic teachers, but clearly Coen sees something he likes from Hafley’s “fearless” defensive philosophy. -Gus Logue
🏀 Dallas Mavericks. Under absolutely zero circumstances do you trade Luka Dončić, formerly known as your franchise cornerstone. One you haven’t had since Dirk Nowitzki. Whether Dončić’s weight and conditioning were an issue for the Mavericks, it’s not easy to replace a 25-year-old dynamo who gave you 29 points, 8 assists and 8 boards a night. On its face, the trade makes no sense, but you do receive another Hall of Fame-caliber player in his own right in Anthony Davis. If the Mavericks believe they can win a title within the next four years, quite frankly, that’s probably how much time they have with this iteration of their ball club. -RJ Saunders
⚾️ Blue Jays P Max Scherzer. The future Hall of Famer signed a one-year deal with the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday. But I just wonder how much is left in the tank for Scherzer, who will turn 41 this summer. Injuries have prevented the eight-time All-Star from being his dominant self over the last two years. Toronto will be his 4th different team since 2021. -Andrew Gibson
