🏈 (NFL) Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. One last time for the 23rd overall pick. Thomas Jr. finished his rookie campaign with 103 receiving yards against the Colts, bringing his season-long total to 1,282 yards — only Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson had more. Thomas Jr. was voted to the Pro Bowl as an alternate and will be a tantalizing carrot to dangle in front of coaching candidates. -Gus Logue
🏈 (CFB) Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The biggest win for the Irish since……..before Brian Kelly? That was the question most were asking after Notre Dame’s dominant victory over Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Head coach Marcus Freeman found himself in hot seat talks after the embarrassing loss to Northern Illinois in South Bend, but the Fighting Irish have been rolling ever since. Notre Dame now looks as legit a National Championship contender as they have since Manti Te'o was strapping on the gold helmet. -Trent Osborne
🏀 Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder’s winning streak is now at 15 games, tying the Cavs’ 15-0 start for the longest streak in the league in the last two seasons. More than half of those wins have come against teams that currently have winning records. And with weekend wins over the Knicks and Celtics, the Thunder are 11-0 against the Eastern Conference. However, their next opponent the Cavaliers, who are winners of 10 straight themselves and are 10-0 against the West. It could be in for an NBA Finals preview tonight between the two ball clubs. -RJ Saunders
⚾️ Rays now plan to fix The Trop. In an ongoing saga concerning the future of Tropicana Field, Rays president Matt Silverman said last Monday the Rays “support and expect” St. Petersburg to rebuild the Trop according to its current use agreement. The repairs will cost at least $56 million following damage from Hurricane Milton. The Rays plan to play the upcoming 2025 season at Tampa’s Steinbrenner Field, the spring training home of the New York Yankees. Repairs to The Trop are expected to be complete by the 2026 season. -Andrew Gibson

🏈 (NFL) Jaguars owner Shad Khan. In an inexplicable decision, Khan opted to fire head coach Doug Pederson but retain general manager Trent Baalke, who will be helping the team find its third coach in five years. The immediate issue is that Baalke’s poor reputation could cause candidates to lose interest in the position. Khan should’ve cleaned house and allowed new leaders to take charge of the franchise, but instead, he settled. -Gus Logue
🏈 (CFB) The SEC. It hasn't been a banner past few months for the most dominant conference in college football. After failing to get a fourth team into the College Football Playoff, the SEC struggled through one of their worst bowl seasons in years. Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M all took L’s to cap off their season. To make matters worse for the “anti-expansionists”, the lone SEC representative still alive in the CFP is a team that was playing for the Big 12 Championship just 13 months ago. Certainly a season to forget for fans of the Southeastern Conference. -Trent Osborne
🏀 Miami Heat. Jimmy Butler has "lost his joy" and the Heat lost to the Jazz … by 36 points … at home. To make matters worse, the Heat have suspended Butler for seven games. As he's away from the team, the squad hopes to find a trade partner that's interested in the services of the multi-time All-Star. However, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the current trade offers for Butler “stink." Miami is currently on their second six-game trip of the season and seem to be a team looking for answers. -RJ Saunders
⚾️ Braves’ offseason. It has been a very quiet offseason for Atlanta. Aside from a small move to acquire veteran outfielder Bryan De La Cruz, the Braves have had more significant subtractions than additions so far this winter. The biggest of which is losing longtime starting pitcher Max Fried to the Yankees in free agency. With spring training just over a month away, the Braves still have plenty of work to do. -Andrew Gibson
