🏈 (NFL) Jaguars’ Josh Hines-Allen & Travon Walker. The DE duo had spectacular performances on Sunday despite Jacksonville’s losing effort. Hines-Allen posted 2 sacks to reach 50 in his career, which is just 5 short of Tony Brackens’ franchise record; Walker recorded a career-high 7 combined tackles and his first NFL touchdown on an electric 35-yard scoop-and-score. The Jaguars’ defense would likely be the worst in the league without its pillar edge defenders. -Gus Logue
🏈 (CFB) Indiana Hoosiers. Imagine if I told you in August that the Hoosiers would be 9-0 in November and a 14-point favorite over the defending National Champions? First year coach Curt Cignetti has IU off to their best start in school history, and they’re doing it in dominant fashion. The Hoosiers have only trailed twice all season and lead the conference in point differential (+32.9 PPG). If Indiana can knock off Michigan and Ohio State over the next two weeks, they’ll be taking a bus ride to Indianapolis for the Big 10 Championship game. -Trent Osborne
🏀 Lakers C Anthony Davis. The Lakers must understand that they’ll only go as far as Anthony Davis, not LeBron James, will take them. The All-Star big man has been a terror for opponents so far this season. Davis currently leads the NBA in scoring averaging (just under 33 points per game) while also being ranked top 10 in rebounds and blocks. You can make a case that if he keeps this up, his name should be in talks for not only Defensive Player of the Year, but also the league’s Most Valuable Player. -RJ Saunders
⚾️ 2026 Trinity Christian Academy SS Jordan Martinez. One of the top prep prospects in Jacksonville announced his commitment to LSU on Saturday. Martinez told 247 Sports that LSU being “a baseball school” and their “bond with players” attracted him to the Tigers program. The Trinity Christian shortstop hit .359 with seven home runs in 2023. Martinez will be a name to watch locally in the 2026 MLB Draft. -Andrew Gibson

🏈 (NFL) Jaguars coach Doug Pederson. The Jaguars came up short in Pederson’s second return to Philadelphia after he led the Eagles to its first and only Super Bowl in 2017. (Jacksonville also lost to the Birds in 2022.) With the Jaguars sitting at 2-7 this season, it’s just a matter of when — not if — Pederson is relieved of his duties. A “Black Monday” firing should be the assumption, but with potential blowout losses against the Vikings and Lions on deck, perhaps team owner Shad Khan will take action sooner than later. -Gus Logue
🏈 (CFB) Clemson Tigers. Saturday’s 33-21 loss to Louisville may be the most embarrassing the Tigers have had in years. Don’t let the final score fool you, this game was a complete and utter bodybagging by the Cardinals. Clemson now has lost in blowout fashion to the only two ranked teams on their schedule (34-3 to Georgia in Week 1) and no longer control their destiny in the race to the ACC title game. Dabo Swinney’s crew feels the furthest from competing for a national championship than in over a decade. -Trent Osborne
🏀 Milwaukee Bucks. Milwaukee being the worst team in the Eastern Conference after seven games was not on the bingo card of many NBA fans. There are a lot of problems with this team, one of them being age. This isn’t a youthful ball club, and though they have two of arguably the top 20 players in the NBA, it doesn’t feel like they’ve gelled the way they hoped. In addition, All-Star forward Khris Middleton is still out indefinitely. It’s still early but it doesn’t look good for the Bucks. -RJ Saunders
⚾️ Atlanta Braves C Travis d’Arnaud. The Braves declined their $8 million contract option on the veteran catcher on Monday making him a free agent. Part of their 2021 World Series team, d’Arnaud became too expensive for his age. He’ll be 36 on Opening Day. d’Arnaud could return on a more team friendly deal, but it’s likely the Braves will move forward with Sean Murphy at catcher. Top prospect Drake Baldwin could also factor in at the position in 2025. -Andrew Gibson
