  • 🏈 Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. For the third straight week, a Jaguars receiver is trending up. Thomas Jr. will benefit from not needing to be “the guy” for Jacksonville right away, as Christian Kirk, Evan Engram and Gabe Davis are in line to earn more targets this season. But even if Thomas Jr. doesn’t have significant production as a rookie, he’ll still play a vital role as a field-stretcher and spark plug for the offense. Trevor Lawrence has his first true deep threat since his days at Clemson and should benefit immensely. -Gus Logue

  • 🏀 Orlando Magic. Following the schedule release, the Magic are going to have to show that they weren’t a fluke in terms of their success last season. The NBA definitely gave no favors to this young team as they’ll play six out of their first 10 games on the road. However, Paolo Banchero believes this team has the chance to finish among the top of the Eastern Conference this year. It seems following the decisions they made this summer, and the continued development of their young stars, this will be a team to be reckoned with in the East. -RJ Saunders

  • ⚾️ Marlins DH Jake Burger. Miami is well out of the playoff picture, but they have a young slugger in Burger. He’s had a whopper of a month with 9 home runs so far in August. No player in baseball has hit more homers in the last 30 days than the Marlins designated hitter (14). -Andrew Gibson

  • 🏈 Jaguars QB C.J. Beathard. The seven-year NFL veteran likely lost the backup quarterback job to Mac Jones after Saturday’s game against the Bucs. Jones passed for 210 yards and 2 touchdowns; Beathard threw for just 40 yards and re-injured his groin. Expect the former to be QB2 and the latter to land on the practice squad. -Gus Logue

  • 🏀 Miami Heat. You never want to bet against this team. However, they’ve had bad injury luck over the last couple of years. The trade for Terry Rozier is beginning to feel as more of a head scratcher than it is a solid move. In addition, the Eastern Conference is continuing to get better. No doubt they can get into the playoffs, however, it’ll be through the play in. And one of your cornerstones in Jimmy Butler isn’t getting any younger. It just doesn’t feel as if Miami will be able to bring or sustain the Heat they’ve had these last few years. -RJ Saunders

  • ⚾️ Braves 3B Austin Riley. The two-time All Star third baseman is out for the season with a broken hand. It’s just more bad news for a Braves team that has been devastated by injuries. Riley joins a star-studded injured list that includes Spencer Strider, Ronald Acuña Jr. and Ozzie Albies. -Andrew Gibson
